Rise + Shine Green Smoothie
Hi, my name is Amber and I have a problem. I thrive on caffeine and Starbs..and I get the ones that contain like 6395 calories and are 99% sugar. Oooo, how I love me some Black + White Mochas and Crème Brûlée Lattes. BUT, with that being said, I noticed that I would feel that amazing energy surge shortly after and then BAM! The aftermath..the crash after the sugar and caffeine rush. Now, know that I am not saying I don't LOVE my caffeinated sugary drinks, because I do...BUT I realized that I needed to cut out my daily drive-thru acquaintances and change up my habits a little. PLUS, I realized I was spending like $5 a day on coffee..take that times 5 times a week..times how many weeks in the year..Umm, HELLO!

So, I decided that each week I will try a new smoothie recipe and this week's recipe did not disappoint..in fact, it was DELICIOUS and loaded with all the good stuff. I bought all the ingredients on Sunday and have made myself a smoothie every day this week. Wanna know something crazy?! I haven't had caffeine every single day..only ONCE all week! #crazytown

Here's the recipe! Try it out! It's sooo good!

1/2 cup water
Handful of green grapes (about 8-10)
2 giant handfuls of Spinach (promise you can barely taste it)
1/2 cup pineapple (fresh tastes yummier than canned)
3/4 cup ice
1 banana
1-2 TBSP Agave Nectar ( I got mine here)
OPTIONAL: 1/4 teaspoon Spirulina (read more about Spirulina here)

Blend it all up and enjoy! This makes around two 8 ounce smoothies, or one 16 ounce smoothie.

Don't get me wrong..I will still enjoy my caffeinated beverages every once in a while..but more-so as a TREAT to myself.

Let me know if you try this one out! Wanna see more smoothie recipes?! Let me know!
